Police investigate weapons call GO#20-94993

UPDATE: Halifax Regional Police confirm that investigators have cleared the scene of the shooting on Lahey Road, Dartmouth. The QEII Health Sciences Centre is no longer in a state of emergency lock down, and the 26-year-old man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect information is available at this time.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is currently in its preliminary stages. 

 

On August 16 at 10:09 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a man on route to the QEII Health Sciences Centre, after having been shot in the area of Lahey Road, Dartmouth. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed a shooting had taken place. Multiple officers were currently on scene, including K-9, and Forensic Identification members.

The hospital was placed in lock down and officers were on scene.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is ongoing.
