Investigators with the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating two separate break and enters that occurred yesterday morning in Halifax.
At 5:09 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a break and enter in-progress at Spring Garden Place at 5640 Spring Garden Road. It was reported that two men were attempting to break into a bank machine at this location. When police arrived they found an empty and damaged bank machine. The suspects fled prior to police arrival in what was described as a white pickup truck. The suspects are described as two males, one believed to be a heavy set white male. A truck believed to be involved in this incident was seized at 3 p.m. in the 1100-block of Queen Street.
At 5:20 a.m., police responded to a second call where security heard a loud sound coming from the basement area of the Maritime Centre located at 1505 Barrington Street. When the security guard went to investigate the noise he saw two males, one of which was carrying what was believed to be a crowbar. The males left in an older model dark coloured pick-up truck. Police located an empty and damaged bank machine. A truck believed to be involved in this incident was seized at 8:10 a.m. this morning in the 5000-block of Morris Street.
It is believed that these two incidents are related and anyone who may have information about either or both, is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
