Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery and a theft that occurred over the weekend in Halifax.
On April 8 at approximately 1:20 a.m., police received a report that a group of five men, who were not known to the residents, entered a home in the 1600 block of Edward Street where a private party was being hosted. After the group had left, the residents noted that a number of items, including a bank card and identity cards, were missing. The suspects are described as four Black men and a white man who was wearing a black ski mask
On April 8 at approximately 10 a.m., police received a report of a robbery that had occurred the previous night. On April 7 at approximately 11: 30 p.m. a group of men, who were not known to the residents, entered a home in the 6200 block of Shirley Street where a private party was just ending. After staying a few minutes, the group left the home with a number of bottles of alcohol. One of the men assaulted a resident who confronted him about the theft and a member of the group who had been waiting outside displayed what was believed to be a firearm. The group then left the area on foot. The residents later discovered that a cell phone was missing from the home. The suspects who entered the home were described as Black men, in their early 20s or younger. The man who displayed the firearm is described as a white man wearing a black ski mask.
