Police respond to Health Protection Act calls GO#21-48303

Overnight on April 25, Halifax Regional Police responded to 17 calls from concerned citizens for potential violations of the recently updated Health Protection Act regulations mandated by the province on April 23, 2021. Of those calls, most were found to be in compliance with regulations.

At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a complaint of a gathering at a dwelling in the 1900 block of Brunswick Street, Halifax, where it was suspected that persons were exceeding the provincially mandated gathering limits. 

Two men were issued summary offence tickets for violating 71(1)(b) of the Health Protection Act which carries a fine of $1,000.
