Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision involving a child and a Halifax Transit bus. At 4:40 p.m., police received a call that a bus had collided with a young child at low speed while stopping at the Mumford Road bus terminal.
Investigators learned that a 3-year-old had accidentally run out into the bus lane and made contact with a passing bus, travelling at very low speeds, resulting in the child being knocked to the ground and receiving minor injuries. The child was with a guardian at the time. The child was accessed by EHS at the scene and as a precaution transported to the IWK for further assessment.
Charges are not expected in this matter.
