Thursday, July 20, 2017 (Halifax, NS) - The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that starting Monday, July 24, 2017 St. Margaret’s Bay Road from Quarry Road to Douglas Drive will be closed to facilitate an 11-week construction project that will enhance important infrastructure and help improve safety for residents.
During the closure customers will still have access to businesses on the impacted route, but there will be no through-traffic. Residents living in the affected area will have access to their driveways. A signed detour will be in place to assist motorists travelling in this area.
The project includes:
- New asphalt
- New sidewalks on both sides of the road
- New curb and gutter
- New watermain and storm sewer
- Upgraded push-button activated overhead crosswalk (RA-5) at Fenwood Road/ Fenerty Road
Motorists are asked to use an alternative route whenever possible.
