Suspicious death ruled a homicide

The suspicious death that occurred on February 7 on Washmill Lake Drive in Halifax has been ruled a homicide.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons complaint at an address in the 600 block of Washmill Lake Drive.  Officers located a deceased man upon arrival in the hallway of a building. Based on today’s autopsy, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has ruled the death a homicide and identified the victim as 26-year-old Brandon Polegato of Halifax. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

The investigation, led by the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, and including Forensic Identification officers, is ongoing and officers remain on scene.
