Halifax Transit and the Planning & Development department will be hosting an open house session on Thursday to discuss options to improve transit service on Robie and Young streets.

As part of Halifax Transit’s Moving Forward Together Plan and the recently approved Integrated Mobility Plan, the municipality is studying potential infrastructure treatments that aim to improve transit priority on key corridors to make transit faster and more reliable.

Robie and Young streets are currently under consideration as priority corridors and the municipality, in consultation with WSP, is completing a functional design study that investigates options to improve the speed and reliability of transit vehicles along each corridor. While design concepts are preliminary, some options being considered may impact private property, utilities, trees, parking, loading, and traffic operation along the corridor.

Public feedback collected at open house sessions will help inform a staff report to Regional Council later this fall that will include recommendations on functional designs and preferred options.

WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 from 6-8 p.m.
WHERE: Maritime Hall, Halifax Forum (2901 Windsor St., Halifax
