Unintentional discharge of an officer’s firearm and internal review

At 6:05 a.m.,  a member was performing a routine check of a firearm in a designated loading area when one round was accidentally discharged. No one was harmed as a result of the discharge. The officer immediately contacted their supervisor.

 A detailed review was conducted following the incident today, including officer training, assessing the state of the weapon and the suitability of the environment where the incident occurred. No deficiencies were found and this has been determined to be an isolated case of human error. There were no injuries or damage.
