UPDATE ~ Vehicle/pedestrian collision
In response to a media release disseminated on November 30, 2017 requesting information leading to the identification of the driver of a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision resulting in a pedestrian being struck in a crosswalk, the driver of the vehicle voluntarily came forward and contacted police on December 1, 2017.
After a police investigation, which included speaking to the driver, a 66-year-old Halifax man was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Police would like to thank the driver for coming forward and doing the right thing.

Vehicle/pedestrian collision
Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance to identify the driver involved in a vehicle pedestrian collision that occurred in Halifax last night.
At 7:30 p.m. on November 29, a 34-year-old man was in a marked crosswalk on Lacewood Drive at Regency Park Drive when he was hit by a car. The car was on Lacewood Drive making a right turn onto Regency Park Drive when the collision occurred. The pedestrian can only describe the vehicle as a car and the driver as a male.
The driver stopped and asked the pedestrian if he was alright, however, at the time the man didn’t realize he was injured. The pedestrian had sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to the hospital by EHS. Shortly after the collision he reported it to police.
