ENUpdate: The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today facing charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm. The victim remains in hospital, and her injuries are life-threatening.

As an update, please be advised that the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, including an HRP member, are again searching Red Bridge Pond in Dartmouth for a weapon possibly related to the homicide Tyler Bradley Richards.

ENDuring the month of September, there were 18 vehicle/pedestrian collisions in Halifax. Month over month, this represents an increase of six from the 12 incidents reported in August 2017. Year over year, the number of incidents remained unchanged; there were 18 incidents reported in September 2016.

ENThe 25th Anniversary Banquet for the Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement (AWLE) was held last night in Membertou, Cape Breton. Three Halifax Regional Police officers - Sergeant Nancy Rudback, Sergeant Joanne McNeil and Detective/Constable Kerry Nielsen – were recognized as award recipients.
