    On January 12 at 3:32 a.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of a collision where a vehicle struck a utility pole, breaking it off at the base, in the 6100 block of Young Street, Halifax.

    On January 12 at at 2:06 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of gun shots at 649 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed a shooting had taken place with several bullet holes in the main floor of the residence, no one was injured. A number of officers are currently on scene, including Forensic Identification.

    On January 12 at 1:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to multiple reports of a break and enter in progress at an apartment building in the 60 block of Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth. Officers subdued and arrested the suspect when he was found assaulting another tenant.
