    At 9:30 p.m. on May 17, police responded to the Spring Garden Café News Stand located at 5681 Spring Garden Road in Halifax to a report of a robbery. A man entered the business, attempted to steal some items, and when confronted by staff, he produced a knife.

    At 5:45 p.m. on May 17, Police responded to the 600 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth to a report of a man with an axe. Responding officers located the man in the middle of the road and he was swinging the axe in a threatening manner.
