    The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to take caution leading up to the impending storm. While snowfall warnings have lessened, the storm is expected to deliver high winds and a significant storm surge. The storm is expected to be most powerful this evening and overnight.

    At approximately 5 p.m. on January 3, an 8-year-old girl ran into traffic at the 900 block of Herring Cove Road and was struck by a vehicle. The child was transported to the IWK for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She was not in a crosswalk when she was struck. No charges are expected.
