    The Halifax Regional Municipality has lifted enforcement of the overnight winter parking ban until further notice.

    Halifax Regional Police charged a man with driving in excess of 50 km/h over the posted speed limit in Dartmouth today.

    Date: Saturday, Jan. 23 and Sunday, Jan. 24
    Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
    Work details: Nova Scotia Power utility pole work
    Traffic impact: The sidewalk will be closed and lane drops near 6459 Bayers Road will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect minor delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

    Please be advised that the municipal overnight winter parking ban will be enforced from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 to allow crews to properly clear the streets and sidewalks.

    The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that it is not currently safe to be on frozen lakes and ponds as there is noticeable thin ice and open water in many lakes across the region.

    Police are on scene of a structure fire at a residence in the 5700 block of West Street in Halifax.
    There are no reported injuries at this time.

    On January 21 at 10:14 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an injured man who was bleeding from the head and running in the 0-50 block of Jackson Road, Dartmouth.
