ENOn July 22 at 11:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a single motor vehicle crash in the 500 block of Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. A motorist attempted to avoid a raccoon who was crossing the street and in doing so lost control and struck a power pole. There were no injuries, including the raccoon.

ENAt 10:40 p.m. on July 21, an officer observed a vehicle travelling above the speed limit inbound on Bayers Road. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop. When the vehicle reached Rocky Lake Drive the pursuit was discontinued. The vehicle was located unoccupied and a search of the area could not locate the driver. Investigators were able to identify him and charges are expected once he is located and arrested.

ENAt 5:13 p.m. on July 21, police responded to Chadwick Place in Halifax to a report of a robbery. Three men, one believed to be armed with a firearm, pushed their way into an apartment and assaulted the male resident. The suspects are described as three black males in their mid-twenties and they fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a newer model dark grey sedan.

ENOn July 21, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a man who had been hit with a baseball bat in the 10-20 block of Alma Crescent in Halifax. A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene and both the suspect and the victim are known to one another.

ENAt 5:29 a.m. on July 21, a call was received of a vehicle fire in the area of the 40 block of Leaman Drive in Dartmouth. The fire spread to a house that was adjacent to the vehicle. Halifax Regional Police (HRP) and Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) responded. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries.

ENThe Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that several downtown Halifax streets will be temporarily closed to traffic and parking on Saturday, July 21, to accommodate the annual Halifax Pride Parade.

ENInvestigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged an Emergency Health Services (EHS) paramedic with criminal negligence and breach of trust in relation to tampered vials of hydromorphone.

ENPolice have charged two Halifax men after a man and a woman were forcibly confined and assaulted on July 19 in Halifax. Police are looking for a third suspect, a Halifax man, related to the incident.

ENPolice have charged four people after conducting searches at five different locations in the Halifax-area yesterday.
