    Halifax Regional Police is releasing a statement in relation to a large disturbance in Halifax on Sunday related to unsanctioned Dalhousie Homecoming events.

    Halifax Regional Police are on scene of an unsanctioned student gathering near Preston, Larch and Jennings Streets, Halifax.

    Due to the size of the crowds, we are asking the public to remain away from the area. Officers will remain the area and are focusing on community safety and quality-of-life issues. Officers have made arrests and summary offence tickets have been issued.

    We remind the public that any action that unreasonably disturbs the neighbourhood will result in charges. Severe incidents may result in criminal charges being laid. Warnings do not have to be given prior to a ticket being issued. Reckless behaviour will not be tolerated.
