Shortly after midnight on July 23, police responded to the 2600 block of Gottingen Street for a report of an injured man. After an investigation it was determined the man had been the victim of a robbery.  The 62-year-old male victim had been walking in the area of the 5500 block of Black Street in Halifax when he was attacked by two males who came out of an alleyway. One of the males hit him in the head with an unknown object. The suspects then took the victim’s change purse. The suspects were described as two black males and one male wore a light coloured head covering with a twist or a knot in the front. K-9 members checked the area with negative results.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the QEII to be treated for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages.
