Police are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred earlier this afternoon in Halifax.
At 12:55 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a pedestrian/vehicle collision involving an SUV and a 69-year-old woman who was crossing Oak Street in the area of Oxford Street. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and has been transported to the hospital. The 31-year-old female driver was not injured.
The investigation is in the early stages, and members from the Accident Investigation Unit and Forensic Identification Section are currently on scene. At this time, it is not known if charges are pending.
Investigators are looking to speak with the driver of a black vehicle that is believed to have been on Oak Street at the time and who may be a witness to the incident.

Traffic Advisory: Traffic in both directions on Oak Street between Oxford Street and Kline Street is closed to pedestrians and vehicles. Traffic will remain blocked for an extended period of time while investigators continue processing the scene.
