Police investigate robbery GO#19-131090

On September 11 at approximately 6:43 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the Griffins Smoke Shop located within the Mumford Road Sobeys store.

A man dressed in a black security guard uniform with reflective bands on the arms, armed with a knife entered the business and demanded cash. The employee was not injured and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  He was last observed walking on Mumford Road towards Chebucto Road. 

After the incident, investigators believe the suspect changed his clothing and was last observed wearing a red jacket with black and white stripes down the sleeves, an orange t-shirt, blue track pants with a white stripe and black sneakers with white soles. He was also carrying a black bag with polka dots.  After changing his clothes, the suspect was last observed heading towards the Mumford Road Walmart store.

He is further described to police as a white man, between the ages of 50-60, approximately 5’8”, slim build, wearing glasses and possibly grey hair.
