On Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, the municipality received an amendment from Schooners Sports & Entertainment (SSE) to the latest version of its proposal for a site-specific development that includes a stadium and a commercial district.
With consent from the proponent, SSE, the municipality has made the amendment publicly available and can be accessed below.
This additional material is being included in the assessment by municipal staff of the SSE proposal and will inform a recommendation report for Regional Council in December 2019.
The Chief Administrative Officer wishes to make it clear that the Halifax Regional Municipality is not prepared to own or operate a stadium. The municipality maintains that the stadium must be privately owned and operated as opposed to being public infrastructure.
Only after Regional Council provides further direction regarding the project will municipal staff be in a position to provide further public comment.

Le vendredi 8 novembre 2019, la municipalité a reçu une modification de Schooners Sports & Entertainment (SSE) de la plus récente version de sa proposition pour un aménagement propre à un site qui comprend un stade et un district commercial.
Avec le consentement du promoteur, SSE, la municipalité a divulgué publiquement la modification, laquelle peut être consultée en suivant le lien ci-dessous.
Ces renseignements supplémentaires sont inclus dans l’évaluation de la proposition de SSE menée par les employés municipaux et éclaireront un rapport de recommandation à l’intention du Conseil régional en décembre 2019.
L’agent administratif principal tient à clairement faire savoir que la Municipalité régionale d’Halifax n’est pas prête à posséder ou à exploiter un stade. La municipalité maintient que le stade doit appartenir à des intérêts privés et être exploité par ceux-ci plutôt que d’être une infrastructure publique.
Le personnel municipal ne sera en mesure de fournir d’autres commentaires publics qu’après que le Conseil régional aura transmis d’autres directives concernant le projet.
