Police have charged a man for a robbery that occurred this weekend in Halifax.
At approximately 3 a.m., on January 19, police responded to a report of a robbery at the Irving gas station located at 280 Lacewood Drive.A man with a knife entered the store and demanded cash. The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Patrol officers and a K9 Unit responded to the scene and conducted a thorough track but were not able to locate the suspect.
Yesterday at approximately 8:45 a.m. the suspect turned himself in to police on Gebhardt Street in Halifax.
Christopher Douglas Picco, 26, of Halifax, has been charged with robbery and breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the charges.
