Police have charged a man and a woman with drug and firearms offences after conducting a search of a residence in Dartmouth yesterday.
At approximately 11 p.m. members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division’s Drug and Guns and Gangs Unit, assisted by the Halifax Regional Police Emergency Response Team, conducted a search warrant at a residence on Albro Lake Road in Dartmouth. Officers arrested a man without incident and seized over $6,000, a quantity of cocaine and a firearm.
A 50-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman both of Dartmouth are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possess firearm knowing its possession is not authorized
- Illegal storage of firearm
