Investigators in the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man in relation to the homicide of Donald Scott McKay.
At approximately 3:10 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons complaint at 5578 Morris Street in Halifax. Officers located 61-year-old Donald Scott McKay of Halifax inside the residence suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Medical Examiner ruled Donald’s death a homicide.
Officers located a second man with injuries inside the residence and he was transported to hospital for medical treatment. Yesterday, investigators with the Special Investigation Section arrested this man in relation to Donald’s homicide.
James Alfred Maclean, 70, of Halifax, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face a charge of second-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information about Donald’s murder to call police at 902-490-5016.
