Halifax Regional Police issued 70 tickets for speeding, cellphone and other motor vehicle-related offences on Monday and Tuesday.
Members from the HRP Traffic Unit issued 70 summary offence tickets: 18 for speeding, 19 for using a cell phone while driving and 33 for other offences including no insurance, expired plates and no license.
Officers spent time in the Romans Avenue and Vaughn Avenue areas of Halifax as well as the Walnut Hall, Lindy Lane and Windmill Road areas in Dartmouth in relation to community concerns.
In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues and educate citizens on the rules of the road, our officers focus on distracted driving and speed enforcement. We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe.
