Police have arrested the second of two men who had escaped from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility last month.
On September 23 at approximately 8:50 p.m. Chad Stephen Clarke, 28, and Thomas Joseph Smith, 31, escaped from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth.
On October 16 at approximately 10 p.m. members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division observed Smith in the area of Rosedale Avenue and Ropewalk Lane in Dartmouth. Smith fled on foot when officers approached him. A short time later, officers arrested Smith without incident in the area of Elmwood Avenue and Wyse Road in Dartmouth.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
Clarke was arrest on October 4 in Halifax.
