The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to participate in a survey and virtual open house to help inform the design of the Windsor Street Exchange Redevelopment project.
The Windsor Street Exchange Redevelopment project involves the redesign of the intersection of Bedford Highway, Windsor Street and Lady Hammond Road. Approximately 48,000 vehicles travel through this area each day, and the Windsor Street Exchange is operating above its available capacity during peak travel periods. The goal of the project is to add active transportation connections and transit priority measures through the intersection, improve the movement of vehicles and goods through the area, and improve safety for all road users.
Based on previous feedback, two concept design options have been developed for the project, which consider the existing conditions within the project area, how residents travel through the area and the overall project goals. The project team is looking for feedback from the public on the concept design options. The public may provide feedback by participating in an online survey and/or participating in a virtual open house hosted by the municipality. The feedback from this phase of engagement will be considered in the detailed design work on one of the options.
Online survey
The online survey will be open from Wednesday, October 27 to Wednesday, November 17.
Virtual open house
The virtual open house will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27 via Microsoft Teams. This event will provide residents with the opportunity to learn more about the project, ask questions and provide feedback on the concept design options.

La municipalité régionale de Halifax invite les résidents à participer à un sondage et à une journée portes ouvertes virtuelle afin d’éclairer la conception du projet de réaménagement de l’échangeur de la rue Windsor.
Le projet de réaménagement de l’échangeur de la rue Windsor comprend le remaniement de l’intersection de l’autoroute Bedford, de la rue Windsor et du chemin Lady Hammond. Environ 48 000 véhicules traversent cette région chaque jour, et l’échangeur de la rue Windsor fonctionne au-dessus de sa capacité disponible pendant les périodes de pointe. L’objectif du projet est d’ajouter des liaisons de transport actives et des mesures prioritaires de transport en commun à l’intersection, d’améliorer le mouvement des véhicules et des marchandises dans la région et d’améliorer la sécurité pour tous les usagers de la route.
D’après les commentaires antérieurs, deux options de conception ont été élaborées pour le projet, qui tiennent compte des conditions actuelles dans la zone du projet, de la façon dont les résidents voyagent dans la zone et des objectifs généraux du projet. Journée portes ouvertes virtuelle
La journée portes ouvertes virtuelle aura lieu à 18 heures le mercredi 27 octobre par l’intermédiaire de Microsoft Teams. Cet événement donnera aux résidents l’occasion d’en apprendre davantage sur le projet, de poser des questions et de fournir de la rétroaction sur les options de conception du concept.
