Members of the Patrol Division and the General Investigation Section are currently investigating a break and enter that occurred this morning in Halifax.
Shortly after midnight on February 10, patrol members responded to the 1300 block of Birmingham Street for a report of a man breaking into a business. Multiple witnesses reported the incident to police. Officers quickly converged on the area and the man tried to flee from officers on foot, but he was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. The items stolen from the business were recovered by officers at the scene.
A 45-year-old man is currently in police custody and will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court in the morning. The investigation is ongoing with respect to potential charges related to other break and enter files in the area.
