Police have charged a man for a robbery that occurred in Halifax.
On February 12 at 2:36 p.m. police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Ultramar service station located at 2816 Gottingen Street. A man entered the establishment and attempted to gain access behind the counter. Staff intervened and were assaulted by the man.
No weapons were observed and the man left empty-handed and fled the area on foot where he was apprehended by police a short distance away.
No staff members or members of the public were injured during the incident. The 19-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of robbery and resist arrest.
