The Halifax Regional Municipality is marking the launch of its Strategic Performance Snapshot – a new online dashboard showcasing the municipality’s progress as it delivers on the priorities of Regional Council and the administration.
The Strategic Performance Snapshot provides an online record of the work being done by the municipality to meet the evolving and growing needs of the Halifax region. The consolidated data captures how the organization is performing on its strategic initiatives, helping to guide and prioritize municipal planning and decision making with transparency and accountability to residents.
The new online tool is a ‘snapshot’ in time – based on data that is updated annually. Depending on the type of information, it may be updated on the dashboard after the close of the calendar year (January to December) or the municipality’s fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). The goal is to improve access to information through a centralized dashboard that shows how well the municipality is delivering services.
All the work of the municipality is tied to the Council-approved strategic priorities that are outlined on the dashboard. There are commitments to deliver on specific outcomes and initiatives to achieve each priority in the 2021-25 Strategic Priorities Plan.
Progress is measured by a variety of key performance indicators (KPIs) including residents’ satisfaction with services, financial performance and stewardship, employee retention, achieving service standards and completion of project milestones. Some of the key features of the dashboard include year-over-year trends, information about related KPIs, and at-a-glance graphs and charts. Users can also access data on more than 80 municipal projects and initiatives.

La municipalité lance un nouveau tableau de bord en ligne : Instantané du rendement stratégique
La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax marque le lancement de son Instantané du rendement stratégique – un nouveau tableau de bord en ligne qui présente les progrès réalisés par la municipalité dans la réalisation des priorités du Conseil régional et de l’administration.
L’Instantané du rendement stratégique fournit un compte rendu en ligne du travail accompli par la municipalité pour répondre aux besoins changeants et croissants de la région d’Halifax. Les données consolidées décrivent la façon dont l’organisation exécute ses initiatives stratégiques, aidant à orienter et à prioriser la planification et la prise de décisions municipales avec transparence et responsabilité envers les résidents.
Le nouvel outil en ligne est un « Instantané » dans le temps – basé sur des données mises à jour annuellement. Selon le type d’information, elle peut être mise à jour sur le tableau de bord après la clôture de l’année civile (janvier à décembre) ou de l’exercice de la municipalité (1er avril au 31 mars). L’objectif est d’améliorer l’accès à l’information grâce à un tableau de bord centralisé qui montre la qualité des services que fournit la municipalité.
Tout le travail de la municipalité est lié aux priorités stratégiques qu’approuve le Conseil et qui sont décrites dans le tableau de bord. Le Plan des priorités stratégiques de 2021-2025 comporte des engagements à l’égard de résultats et d’initiatives précis pour atteindre chaque priorité.
Les progrès sont mesurés par divers indicateurs de rendement clés (IRC), dont la satisfaction des résidents à l’égard des services, l’intendance et le rendement financiers, le maintien en poste des employés, l’atteinte des normes de service et l’achèvement des jalons du projet. Parmi les principales caractéristiques du tableau de bord figurent les tendances d’une année sur l’autre, l’information sur les indicateurs de rendement clés connexes et les graphiques et tableaux en un coup d’œil. Les utilisateurs peuvent également accéder aux données sur plus de 80 projets et initiatives municipaux.
