This week, the Halifax Regional Police Traffic Unit issued 110 tickets for speeding, distracted driving and motor vehicle-related offences.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday members issued 110 summary offence tickets: 61 for speeding (including two for stunting), six for using a cellphone while driving and 43 for other offences including driving with a revoked license and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The monthly theme for April is speeding and aggressive driving. In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues, officers will focus on these areas when conducting enforcement.
We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.
