Policing operations in the area of the 0-100 block of Rufus Avenue in Halifax have now concluded.

Two suspects have been taken into custody without incident. The investigation is ongoing  and no further information is available at this time.

Police remain on scene as earlier stated in the road closure. These streets will continue to remain closed for sometime into the morning. A further release will be made once the streets are reopened.

Members of the public can expect a larger police presence than normal in the surrounding area. Although there is no further risk to the public, members of the public are again reminded to abide by the direction of police in the area while the operation continues.

The victim is in hospital where he remains for what are described as non life threatening injuries.

The matter is under investigation by the Criminal Investigative Division.

Police on scene for a weapons complaint.

Police are currently on scene in the 0-100 block of Rufus Avenue in Halifax. 

At 7:26 p.m. police received a call for a man that was assaulted, possibly with a weapon. A man was located suffering from what appears to be non-life threatening injuries and has been transported to hospital for care.

The investigation is in its early stages and nothing further is known at this time.

Police have Rufus Avenue blocked to pedestrian and vehicle traffic between Hillcrest Street and Alex Street.

There is no ongoing risk to the public, but police are reminding persons in the area to follow the direction of police officers. 

An update will be provided when more information is known.
