The Accessibility & Inclusion Strategy builds upon the Diversity & Inclusion Framework and the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act to outline 30 action items for improving accessibility and representation for individuals with disabilities. The action items are to be implemented over a 10-year period to align with the provincial act. This represents a call to action and recognition of the need to create a municipality accessible to all, regardless of ability.
As outlined in the Provincial Legislation, the Strategy’s action items fall under six key areas: Built Environment, Goods & Services, Education, Information & Communication, Employment, and Public Transportation and Transportation Infrastructure.
