Tomorrow marks the tenth anniversary of the murder of Raymond Floyd Peters and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.
On January 7, 2013 at approximately 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Primrose Street and Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. They located Raymond in an apartment on Jackson Road suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital by ambulance where he passed away the following day. A suspect had fled the area on foot and was described as a black man in his 20’s, approximately 5’8” tall with a medium build and wearing a blue hoodie and black pants.
Investigators believe there are people with information in relation Raymond’s murder who have not come forward to police. We hope that the passage of time will encourage them to do the right thing and come forward with what they know. It is never too late to do the right thing and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation.

Raymond’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. Callers must contact the Rewards Program at 1-888-710-9090, must provide their name and contact information, and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded. The amount of the award will be based on the investigative value of the information provided.
