UPDATE: HRP members of the FIS section and Patrol have completed the investigation into the suspicious package at Spring Garden Road/ Barrington Street. It was determined that there was no threat to the public. It was an abandoned suitcase.
HRP thanks the public for its assistance and vigilance in reporting this matter. Traffic is now open to vehicle and pedestrians.
Police investigate suspicious package
Police are on scene of a suspicious package in the area of Spring Garden Road and Barrington Street.
Traffic is being redirected on Spring Garden Road at Grafton Street and on Barrington Street at Salter and Bishop streets.
Police are asking the public to remain away from the area to allow officers to conduct their investigation. Please use alternate routes to avoid delays.
