Police have laid charges in relation to a firearms investigation and a break and enter that occurred last week in Halifax.

On April 21 at approximately 3 a.m. police responded to a break and enter at the Needs Convenience located at 5 Ruth Goldbloom Drive. Two men broke into the business, stole a quantity of cigarettes and lottery tickets and fled the area in a vehicle.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near Windmill and Victoria roads in Dartmouth. The driver refused to stop, but the vehicle was not pursued out of concern for the public safety. At approximately 4 a.m.  officers located the suspect vehicle abandoned in the 3000 block of the Waverly Road. A K-9 Unit tracked the suspects, and the two men were arrested in the area a short time later.
