Halifax Regional Police charged four drivers for impaired driving offences in Halifax and Bedford yesterday.
At approximately 1:35 a.m. police received a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Rutledge Street in Bedford. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver after observing signs of impairment. The driver, a 27-year-old-woman, was charged with operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance while over 80mg%.
At approximately 1:40 a.m. officers stopped a driver they believed to be impaired on Argyle Street in Halifax. Officers arrested the driver after observing signs of impairment. The driver, a 26-year-old-man, was charged with failing to comply with a demand for evidentiary breath testing.
At approximately 1:50 a.m. officers stopped a driver they believed to be impaired on Walter Havill Drive in Halifax. Officers arrested the driver after observing signs of impairment. The driver, a 38-year-old-man, was charged with operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance while over 80mg%.
At approximately 3 a.m. officers stopped a driver they believed to be impaired on Kearney Lake Drive in Halifax. Officers arrested the driver after observing signs of impairment. The driver, a 21-year-old-man, was charged with operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance while over 80mg%.
The four drivers will appear in court at a later date to face the charges.
If you see a potential impaired driver, call 911 immediately and give the call taker your location along with a description of the vehicle, including the licence plate number, colour, make and model, the direction of travel for the vehicle and a description of the driver.
