Police lay charges in robbery

Police charge three people in relation to robbery in Dartmouth earlier this week.

On September 12 at approximately 6:40 p.m. officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Petro Canada Gas station at 105 Main Street.  Three men entered the store, threatened the employee, and demanded cash. The men then fled with an amount of cash and cigarettes in a vehicle that had been reported stolen on September 5 from Oyster Pond, Nova Scotia.

Officers located the suspect vehicle on Roleika Drive in Dartmouth, while the suspects themselves were in a nearby apartment building on Kennedy Drive. One of the suspects was arrested without incident, while the other two were taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

Cody Michael Anderson, 29, was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court yesterday to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Uttering threats
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Douglas Franklyn Mansfield, 32, was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court yesterday to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Obstruction
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Barry William Bugger, 33, was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court yesterday to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Assaulting a peace officer
  • Resisting arrest
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Further investigation led to Anderson and Mansfield also facing charges in relation to a break and enter into the Needs Convenience on Baker Drive in Dartmouth on September 10:

  • Break and Enter
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Mischief (property damage)

Anderson is also being charged with breaching a court order.
