Halifax Regional Police responded to 753 calls for service over the weekend. One notable call is as follows:
Dangerous operation of a conveyance / flight from police
On January 4 at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers observed a motor vehicle with an expired license plate in the area of Allan Street and Monastery Lane in Halifax. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which did not stop and fled. The vehicle continued to flee police by driving through Flynn Park. The vehicle then struck a curb and stop sign, causing the vehicle to come to a stop. Two suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Both suspects were arrested without further incident.
A 32-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of flight from peace officer, dangerous operation of a conveyance and failure or refusal to comply with demand for testing.
A 40-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of failure to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000.00
