Drug search leads to drugs and weapons charges

Three men face charges as a result of a drug search last night in Halifax.

At 10:45 p.m. on September 20, members of the Special Enforcement Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of the West Quick Response Unit, executed a search warrant at an apartment on Lynnett Road. As a result of the search, a quantity of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a handgun were seized. Officers arrested three men during this search without incident. 

Forty-five-year-old Lyndon Eugene Emmerson and 44-year-old Daniel Joseph Nicholson, both of Halifax, and 43-year-old Philip Eric Newhook of Dartmouth, have all been charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine as well as numerous weapons related charges. 

They are all scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
