At 11:09 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, Halifax Regional Police responded to the intersection of Almon and Gottingen Streets in Halifax for reports of a vehicle that had gone through the intersection at a high rate of speed and hit a fence, going airborne and then flipping and landing on the Stadacona Base property. Through the investigation, police learned that the vehicle involved in the collision had been stolen by the someone known to the owner after he assaulted the owner in the 6200 block of London Street in Halifax.

A 27-year-old man faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle, assault causing bodily harm, choking to overcome resistance, dangerous operation of a vehicle, impaired driving, refusal to provide a breath sample and breach. He is being held for court on Monday, September 25.
