On March 24, 2014 shortly after 4:00 p.m., members of the Halifax Regional Police were dispatched to a weapons complaint at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility located at 90 Gloria McCluskey Avenue in Dartmouth.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that a disturbance had occurred at the facility involving a number of inmates, and as a result, two men suffered minor stab wounds inflicted by improvised weapons. A 39-year-old man was taken to the Dartmouth General Hospital for treatment and was released. A 24-year-old man was also treated for minor injuries at the facility.
Members of the Integrated HRP/RCMP General Investigation Section are still investigating the incident.
