One man was arrested earlier today and faces charges in connection with a shooting that occurred in Halifax. A second man was also charged today in connection to this incident.
On November 3 at 2:15 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to several shots fired in the area of Robie Street and McCulley Street. A 48-year-old taxi driver was driving north on Robie Street with a male passenger when his vehicle was shot at from another vehicle. The suspect vehicle, a small silver car, fled the area and no one was injured during this incident.
At 8:45 a.m., police arrested 24-year-old Kirk Michael Wright of Halifax without incident and he will appear in Halifax Provincial Court later today. He faces the following charges:
CC 239 – Attempted murder (2 counts)
CC 267(a) – Assault with a weapon (2 counts)
CC 86(1) – Careless use of a firearm
CC 86(2) – Unsafe storage of a firearm
CC 87(1) – Pointing a firearm
CC 88(1) – Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
CC 92(1) – Possession of a firearm without license
CC 94 – Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon in a motor vehicle
CC 85(1) (a) – Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence
CC 244 – Discharging a firearm with intent (2 counts)
CC 244.2(1) (a) – Discharging a firearm – reckless endangerment to the life of another person (2 counts)
Also, 24-year-old Everett Douglas MacNeil was charged today in relation to this incident. MacNeil was remanded in custody following his November 5 arrest on another matter and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 23 to answer the following charges:

CC 117.01(1) – Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
CC 86(1) – Careless use of a firearm
CC 86(2) – Unsafe storage of a firearm

CC 88(1) – Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
CC 92(1) – Possession of a firearm without license
CC 94 – Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon in a motor vehicle
CC 85(1) (a) – Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence CC 244 – Discharging a firearm with intent (2 counts)
CC 244.2(1) (a) – Discharging a firearm – reckless endangerment to the life of another person (2 counts)
These arrests bring the number of suspects charged in this incident to three. On November 11, police arrested 24-year-old Kyle Douglas Shipley and have laid charges against him.
