The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that several Halifax Transit service changes will take place Monday, Nov. 27 as part of the Moving Forward Together Plan.

These service changes will impact the following routes:

  • Route 19 Greystone & Route 20 Herring Cove: These routes will be combined into the new Route 9 Herring Cove connecting downtown and Spryfield, with branches to Greystone and Herring Cove. Find more information on branching routes or watch a quick video on the new Route 9 branches here: https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/service-adjustments
  • Route 6 Quinpool: This route will be discontinued. Riders affected by these changes may wish to consider one of the following options: Route 14 Leiblin Park, 22 Armdale, 32 Cowie Hill Express, or the new Route 9 Herring Cove.
  • Route 22 Armdale: This route will no longer serve Exhibition Park. Riders affected by this change may consider the Mumford Terminal park & ride as an alternate park & ride option.
  • Route 370 Porters Lake MetroX:  This route will no longer service Micmac Terminal. Porters Lake to Micmac evening service will also be discontinued. Minor schedule adjustments will be taking place to reflect this change.

Halifax Transit staff have been onsite at Mumford, Lower Water, and Scotia Square terminals on the days leading up to these service changes to answer questions and provide additional information to riders. Staff will also be available onboard some buses and at the terminals noted above on Monday.

Big Lift Shuttle Service

Halifax Transit will discontinue the shuttle service that has been in operation during the Macdonald Bridge Redecking Project and will return to regular routings starting Monday, Nov. 27.
