The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists to be prepared for significant crowds anticipated on Wednesday, Dec. 6 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Halifax Explosion.
Union Street will be closed between Young Street and civic address 3276 from 3:30 p.m. today until noon on Wednesday to accommodate the 100th Anniversary of the Halifax Explosion Commemoration at Fort Needham Memorial Park.
Duffus Street will be closed between Robie and Agricola streets and Agricola Street will be closed between Hillside Avenue and Duffus Street on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to accommodate a parade hosted by Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency.
With hundreds of attendees expected, residents are urged to plan their travel in advance and consider taking public transit as parking may be limited.
