At 1:50 a.m. on January 6, Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call in the 3000 block of Westerwald Street in Halifax for reports of a male inside a residence with a knife. Upon officers arrival, no one was in possession of a knife and no one was injured, however, officers did locate an unloaded firearm (rifle). A 42-year-old man from Halifax was arrested for unsafe storage of a firearm and breach of conditions. The man will be held for court.
