At 3:00 a.m. on January 6, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the corner of Victoria Road and Russell Street in Dartmouth where a tractor trailer struck a tree. Upon police arrival the driver of the tractor trailer was arrested for impaired driving. The tractor trailer was in need of towing, but the refrigerated product on board needed to be removed first. The company that owned the product, facilitated the transfer of product, which caused Victoria Road to be shut down between Russell Street and Chappell Street. The tractor trailer was being towed from the scene at time of this report and Victoria Road will be reopened. The driver of the tractor trailer was charged with impaired driving and will appear in court at a later date.
