At 11:23 p.m. on January 9, Halifax Regional Police officers responded to Shoppers Drug Mart at 6055 Almon Street in relation to a robbery that had just occurred.

Pharmacist reported that a male approached the counter and passed a prescription demanding narcotics. Pharmacist refused the demands at which time the suspect grabbed the prescription and ran out of the store.

Patrol members and the Quick Response Unit responded, which resulted through the course of the investigation arresting the suspect at the corner of Gottingen Street and Young Street.

Suspect is being held for court and will appear today to face charges of robbery Sec 334, possession of stolen property 255(b) and breach of probation 733(1)(a) cc.
