The Halifax Regional Municipality is expanding the Youth Advocate Program into the communities of North Preston, Cole Harbour and Lower Sackville.
The Youth Advocate Program helps prevent youth aged 9-15 from engaging in anti-social and criminal behaviors by giving them the opportunity to work with professionals in the community, in all facets of life, to find the strength, support and encouragement to make good decisions for their future.
The expansion of the Youth Advocate Program in North Preston will replace the Souls Strong federally-funded pilot project that concluded earlier this year. In addition to the Youth Advocate Program, the North Preston Community Centre will continue to incorporate successful components of the Souls Strong pilot project to continue to build on its progress in the community.

Le Youth Advocate Program sera offert dans trois communautés supplémentaires
La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax élargit le Youth Advocate Program dans les communautés de North Preston, de Cole Harbour et de Lower Sackville.

En plus du Youth Advocate Program, le centre communautaire de North Preston continuera d’inclure des composantes réussies du projet pilote Souls Strong en vue de continuer à se fonder sur les progrès dans la communauté.
