At 9:30 p.m. on May 17, police responded to the Spring Garden Café News Stand located at 5681 Spring Garden Road in Halifax to a report of a robbery. A man entered the business, attempted to steal some items, and when confronted by staff, he produced a knife. No one was hurt and the suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-to-late twenties, slim build and wearing a black hoodie. The incident is being investigated by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
